Accordion Book: A Portrait Inspired by Warhol’s Marilyn Monroe

For this post, I’m excited to share my latest project: an accordion book featuring my portrait, drawing inspiration from Andy Warhol’s iconic Marilyn Monroe series. The accordion book format allows for a dynamic, unfolding experience, mirroring Warhol’s repetition and vibrant color variations.

Just as Warhol transformed Monroe’s image into a striking pop art statement, I aim to experiment with color, layering, and print techniques to reimagine my portrait in a similar way. The accordion structure offers an interactive dimension—each page builds upon the last, creating a rhythm that echoes Warhol’s screen prints.

My goal is to explore how an image can shift in meaning through repetition, color contrast, and format. This project will be a step toward understanding the power of printed multiples and their impact on visual storytelling.
